I have not yet purchased the game, but I love mmorpg's and I need a good
sci-fi one. I love World of Warcraft and all, but I'm just not a huge fantasy fan.
How would you rate MxO compared to say other mmorpgs?
I started off with Star Wars Galaxies and was let down by how difficult it was to level.
Anywho, I may
purchase the game tonight.
Any tips or opinions would be great, thanks!

I haven't played alot of the sci fi MMORPG's, because I'm generally not that much into sci fi.
MXO is a good game, but it definately has problems. It's been fairly buggy and erratic for me, but I've just been enjoying it so much that it hasn't bothered me as much as bugginess normally would.
I think the gameplay is pretty good, but honestly, it seems like the people who are really loving it are the people who are big matrix fans, or big roleplayers, or things like that.
I would say that it's big draw is the level of immersiveness (is that a word?).
I didn't play SWG beyond beta because I just thought it was boring.
I have actually been leveling verrrry slowly in MXO, but I'm more into running around and exploring and doing things than just power leveling. Apparently if leveling is your thing, there are ways to do it quickly.
On the other hand.... Like I said, I didn't play SWG, but alot of my friends did, and I'm not sure how to say this without it sounding a little rude.... But most of my friends complaints about SWG had nothing to do with the leveling, more about maintaining equipment and stuff like that. Most of them said it was pathetically easy to level in SWG. So, to be honest, if you had a hard time leveling in SWG, you probably should stick with WoW, cause it SWG are apparently the two that are easiest to level.
Oh don't get me wrong, not even the space expansion could save SWG.
THe only reason why I make leveling such a big deal because in most mmo's, in order to be moderately effective in combat (or defense for that matter) who have to be pretty high level. And I'm not a power gamer.
But MxO does look nice, and I do love the Matrix story and world.
I do believe tonight (at least this weekend) I'll give it a try.
Worst case scenario, $50 down the drain along with SWG and City of Heroes.
